东方工艺美术厂创始至今已经过18年的历程，东方工艺的创立，不仅是创承中华传统工艺技艺和精神，也是不断创新、实践和学习的过程。
　　东方工艺的精神在于恢复中华传统工艺，我们的作品，来自民间，取材广泛，超越了民间工艺历史上曾经涵括的形式，不再局限于面人纸塑，器件雕刻，或单一的技术工艺，而从观念和视野的角度，从文化和理解的深度，来诠释我们所提出的这个概念，即东方工艺发展的过程就是我们对传统文化继承与发扬的过程。
　　东方工艺在服膺民族文化的基础上，打开了一个取汲不尽的创作宝库；从文化的精神为先，所有的作品创意，都呈现出丰富的文化故事，即每件作品都表现出强烈的生命力和感情，这样的一种情感不仅只是对过去的传承，也是不断的创新与持续的过程，我们严谨和谦虚的工作态度，已不仅仅基于企业经营的范畴，而是贯穿于东方工艺18年来年的思维方式与艺术状态之中。我们精益求精和创新的创作方式是东方工艺艺术生命的源泉。我们团结紧密的工作激情是勇不可瓦解的基石，在这里，是每个人的热情与智慧。我们以创作民族风格的艺术品为长远的目标，并积极学习、理解中国的文化，通过东方工艺的艺术产品创造新的艺术语言，传承并发扬中国传统工艺文化到国际世界的舞台，是我们永不改变的理想与使命。

　　The New Orient Factory of Arts and Handicrafts has been utilizing newly developed techniques to create both original art pieces and approved pottery reproductions based on traditional Chinese cultural folk-art since 1989. Our craft is our passion, and our art-work is based on the past identities and artistic expressions of the Chinese people who still believe traditional, hand created artworks are even more important today in reaction

to the vacuum left by modern society. We see ourselves as a cultural distributor rather than a handicrafts factory.
　　We insist that every piece of artwork we create has deep roots in traditional culture; reflecting a benevolence and aesthetic feeling that tells a story in addition to being beautiful. Under this principal, we seek to develop an art form whose style and pattern reflect traditional Chinese fine art.
　　New Oriental advocates craftsmanship- every piece of the artwork we create was made and finished entirely by hand. We humbly follow in the footsteps of the previous generations and believe that the definition of craftsmanship is based on the interaction of material and technique. We also believe that there is a direct relationship between the quality of our art, and the amount of effort we put toward creating it- a Morality and balance exists between the technique of the craft and the peaceful and harmonious relationship the craftsman has to the world. Art is man's study of the natural world, a kind of training of the self.When art is created in this way, one single finite piece of artwork has the ability to reflect and combine all people's experiences and wisdom into a complete whole; stretching the value of the artisan into infinity. We hold this believe for our art work, use the experience of tradition, develop a new concept of craft and accumulate the essence of the self.
